Google trends now has Dota 2 above LoL in number of searches, number of sites, and number of headlines though, which is pretty interesting.
In addition, the non-sponsored prize money for Dota 2 has surpassed LoLs for 2012. There is still more money in LoL tournaments but that is because it is coming from RIOT. That is not a healthy E-sport scene and gives a feeling of life support. Dota 2's competitive scene is phenomenal and the game isn't even released yet."
